A Winter Feast – Kangaroo Island Style

Join us for an unforgettable Winter Feast at False Cape Wines, where good friends, great wine, and incredible local and native produce come together by fire and starlight.

Indulge in Premium False Cape Wines, including exclusive museum reds, perfectly paired with a feast cooked over open coals. Enjoy local Kangaroo Island lamb, slow cooked kangaroo hot pot, braised rabbit in a white wine sauce, and marinated octopus salad, all kissed by the heat of hot coals and teamed with seasonal vegetables, Native herbs and D'estrees Bay Crusty Bread

Finish the night with a delicious handcrafted dessert.

Hosted by owners Julie and Jamie Helyar alongside winemaker Greg Follett, this fun gathering promises a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with live music, glowing wood fires, and festoon-lit surroundings at our False Cape Wine Shed and Cellar Door.

The Captain's table - limited to 10 ppl - Exclusive access to the winemaker and  tasting of selected museum red wine.

The Galley- seating inside the wine shed at tables of 6-10 people (book a table with friends or seating allocated to share)

The Deck -  Bar tables and stools set up and located closer to the live band, outside fires and chefs cooking area, under the outdoor sheltered area. 1st come basis for seating, where you are free to roam.

Live Music by 36South!

Get ready to dance and have fun with Kangaroo Island’s own 36South, bringing a mix of blues, pub rock, and classic hits. Enjoy the wailing sax, warbling harp, screaming guitar, rocking keys, and a pounding drum and bass combo for a high-energy night!


False Cape wines including Museum stock along with beer, cider and non alcoholic options will be available on the night.

Vegetarian option available on request.
